The power of music brings peace to an abused elephant



Paul Barton, a british pianist has played classical music in Thailand on an upright piano for an unusual audience: old elephants.


Barton makes regular visits to the Elephants World retirement sanctuary in Thailand’s Kanchanaburi province. He uses his musical talent to confort blind, injured and orphaned elephants.

One of them is Lam Duan, an old blind female elephant. In Thai language, her name means “Tree with Yellow Flowers”. Lam Duan has been blind most of her hard life. Throught Barton's piano and classical music, she finnaly has found some peaceful moments, as you can watch below.
